Values are what you decide matters and how you want to act.

Values is the model name, and in everyday words they are simply what matters to you. They are the one part of your Core Self that is chosen rather than given. Your needs and your nature arrived with you. Your values you pick, and you can keep picking.

That is what makes the name Return Inwards work. You return your attention to your needs and nature, and you choose your values going forward.

A tiny example. You value honesty. A friend invites you to a wedding you can't attend. Instead of inventing a clash, you tell them plainly that you can't afford the trip and you'll miss them.

Values also matter for Alignment: a response that moves toward a need or value, rather than away from a threat, is more likely to come from your core.
