Alignment means responding from your core, not your past. It is the degree to which a response comes from your Core Self, your needs, nature and values, rather than from an old adaptation.

Alignment is the model name. "Responding from your core, not your past" is the everyday phrase.

It is a state, not something you own. It rises and falls moment to moment. You do not have to "find yourself" before you can act differently. An authentic response is simply one that comes from your Core Self, and alignment is how often that happens.

A tiny example. A coworker makes a joke at your expense in a meeting. The old move is to laugh along. Instead you say, calmly, "That one stung a bit." That reply is more aligned.

Alignment is not acting on every feeling. It includes your values, and your values include how you act towards people.

The Four Signals help you tell an adapted response from an authentic one. Read more on the Alignment page.
