Hide means pulling away. When a need feels risky, you step back from it, or from the people who could meet it.

Withdraw is the model name. Hide is the everyday word. It can look like numbing, avoidance or fierce self-reliance.

A tiny example. A friend leaves you a long voicemail after a hard week. You see it, feel a heaviness, and leave it unplayed for days.

The gift of Hide is independence and a steady head when others panic. The cost is loneliness, and needs that go unspoken, so no one can meet them. Often it travels with numbness on the surface.

Around Connection it can sound like "If I don't need anyone, no one can leave me", the rule of the Connection × Withdraw Template.

It's one of four Strategies.
